By Catarina King, co-founder Society1.
We love hearing about amazing projects and collaborations at Society1. There are so many different types of businesses in our community with such a range of focus.
As part of our Coworker Projects series we caught up with Rachel Ovenden, of Rachel Ovenden Photography.
Rachel is a passionate wedding and events photographer and loves capturing couples special day. Earlier this year, when many people were forced to postpone their weddings, Rachel decided to branch out to other areas with an exciting new project.
Rachel has been photographing weddings across Lancashire since 2015. She loves to tell the story of a couples day from getting ready in the morning to the crazy dancing at the end of the night.
‘Candid moments that capture the essence of it all.’ – Rachel
So, what happened when the pandemic came and stopped all events??
We recently caught up with Rachel and she told us about a new project she is working on. I asked her to tell us a bit about it:
Rachel: Since the start of lockdown, the wedding industry has taken a really big hit. With all my weddings being postponed, I’ve had a lot more time to focus on other types of photography.
Being a Preston based photographer, I thought I could adapt my style to be able to offer content packages to local businesses. This would provide them with high quality imagery for them to use on their websites, for marketing and social media.
Here are some examples of some shoots Rachel has done recently with local businesses. Showcasing their products for marketing materials and social media.
These shots are beautiful what fantastic pieces to share for those businesses!
One last question, we have to ask… why do you like working at Society1?
Rachel: Since starting my business, I have always worked from home but this year has been particularly lonely. I love the social aspect of Society1 and enjoy having so many similar people around me. I also find it much more motivating being in an ‘office environment’ (except it’s an office I actually enjoy being in).
Thank you Rachel for sharing what you have been up to. Your new packages sound like a great opportunity for local businesses to promote their products.
