We work with a number of organisations and groups in and around Preston and Lancashire. Our relationships with these groups are invaluable to us and our community. We are taking some time in our blogs to introduce our members to the partners we work with. This week we focus on our relationship with Digital Lancashire.
We met Digital Lancashire at the very start of our business story. Our first introduction was will Adam, from Soap Media. He is one of the board members of Digital Lancashire. He popped in one evening when we had just opened to have a look around and introduce himself. Soap had just invested in a new office around the corner from Society1 on Glovers Court.
We have a great relationship with Digital Lancashire. One of the main things we do is host events together, bringing the Lancashire digital and creative community together. We have a regular ‘Let’s Talk’ night which we host in partnership with Digital Lancashire and Creative Lancashire. Two of the Digital Lancashire board members Tom Stables and Jeremy Coates have each hosted an evening telling their stories and experiences of working in the digital industry. We have also hosted one their regular Women in Tech events. We were set to host another one in April before we had to close for COVID-19. We are hoping that we will be able to host some of these evenings again soon.
We recently caught up with Digital Lancashire as part of our Instagram Meet our Partners series. We asked them to share a bit about things from their perspective. Here’s what they said:
Who is Digital Lancashire?
Digital Lancashire is a membership organisation that brings like-minded digital & tech people from across Lancashire together. We firmly believe that we are stronger together and the ambition of Digital Lancashire is huge! Our aim is to ultimately help Lancashire’s digital economy to thrive and grow, by providing opportunities that may otherwise not be accessed and to offer support and benefits that add value to you and your business.
What is Digital Lancashire’s current focus?
Our key focus has generally remained unchanged throughout these unprecedented times, and if anything, the current uncertainty has simply reinforced the importance of collaboration, sharing knowledge and forging strong networks across the sector. We have been working hard to do this by currently offering a Free Membership Offer, regular events and also developing a comprehensive suite of membership benefits that will be announced shortly!
How do you work with Society1?
We have a long standing and valuable partnership with Society1 and they play a vital role in the fabric of the Digital Lancashire network. Digital Hubs help support collaboration across the County and provide a physical space to focus activity. Cat and Brendan create a special ambience at Society1, it’s right at the heart of Preston’s business and social community, offering a very flexible, contemporary, and friendly working environment for anyone who needs inspiration.
We really enjoy working with the team at Digital Lancashire. Thank you for working with us and featuring in our Meet our Partner series.
