We work with a number of organisations and groups in and around Preston and Lancashire. Our relationships with these groups are invaluable to us and our community. We are taking some time in our blogs to introduce our members to the partners we work with. This week we focus on our relationship with Boost Lancashire.
We took part in the Boost programme when we first started our business at Society1. We attended a two day course which was perfectly timed as we were setting up and give us some great ideas and ways to plan as a team. Since then we have attended a number of free Boost events focusing on particular areas of business and support. We recommend to all our members to take part in the scheme. It provides great training and opportunity to meet other businesses across the region.
Following this we have worked with Boost in many different ways. Boost hosts their training courses here, which are always busy. We have also hosted collaborative events with guest speakers from our community.
We have been supported by Boost in so many ways. Catarina one of our co-founders was lucky enough to be invited to attend 10 Downing Street with a group of Lancashire based businesses. Organised by Andrew Leeming with Enterprise Nation, we attended a meeting with a government representative in Downing street to discuss what challenges we face in our businesses. It was a great day spent with local business owners, Guy Cookson (Hotfoot Design) , Anne Williamson (Consultant and writer) , Rob Binns (Cotton Court). It was an honour to represent our area.
Andrew is passionate about Lancashire businesses and genuinely wants to see everyone get the support they need.
We recently caught up with Boost Lancashire as part of our Instagram Meet our Partners series. We asked them to share a bit about things from their perspective. Here’s what they said:
Who is Boost Lancashire?
Boost is Lancashire’s £6m business growth hub. They are here to support your business by advising you and guiding you to funded programmes and other support across Lancashire which can help you find new markets, be more productive, get the right funding or diversify.
Our primary goal is to help businesses grow but we understand the challenges all businesses are facing due to coronavirus. That is why we also have a dedicated #BoostYourRecovery service. The goal is to help any business in Lancashire who needs advice or support to get back on track.
Boost is led by Lancashire County Council and the Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership, supported by funding from the European Regional Development Fund and Government funds. That means the advice we give is fully-funded and impartial.
What is Boost Lancashire’s current focus?
We have a helpline you can call on 0800 488 0057 for advice and we also have our own dedicated Recovery Hub. There’s a range of content and videos from Boost and our partners about the key aspects of recovery as well as the latest Government advice that affects your business. Search ‘Boost Lancashire’ and visit our Recovery Hub.
How do you work with Society1?
We use Society1 to host some of the masterclasses and other events as part of our core growth programmes, however due to current circumstances we have moved much our service online. We hope to be back at Society1 soon, but in the meantime, why not see what webinars we have coming up on our events page?
Boost is here to help you, whatever stage of recovery your business is at. Let us help you #BoostYourRecovery.
Thanks to Andrew and the team, we hope to see you guys soon . We really enjoy working with Boost Lancashire. Thank you for working with us and featuring in our Meet our Partner series.
